From writer/director/producer John Fallon: 2015 was a good year for THE SHELTER. The ride started off with a positive review on one of the top internet movie sites ( Ain’t It Cool News ) with one of my favorite quotes (“The exact opposite of the feel good movie of the year.”) and it kept trucking forward from there!
The film went on to screen at the Frightfest Film Festival, the Sitges Film Festival, the Southern Screen Film Festival and ended off at the A Night of Horror Film Festival, where star Michael Pare won a
“Career Achievement award” for his work in the film.
The varied screenings resulted in a slew of mostly positive REVIEWS (which you can read here) and in depth INTERVIEWS (which you can read here) with this one with star Michael Pare being the latest. The film is now being rated/reviewed on IMDb and it just started getting some traction on Rotten Tomatoes.
Now there were challenges, sucker punches, odd happenings (don’t get me started), disappointments… what not (I may go into details about the ups and downs on my personal blog down the road, will make for a great read). But we dealt with them to the best of our abilities and kept forging forward. At the end of the day, that is all one can do. So what does 2016 have in store for the film?
The Shelter will do a couple more Festivals (to be disclosed soon ) and once that last leg done we will focus fully on sales/distribution. Thanks to all who have are still supporting the film. Trust me when I say that the positive energy does not go unnoticed.
Personally, my life was totally consumed by The Shelter in 2015 and I see the film demanding the same from me in 2016. All good. Lets do it! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! God bless! – John Fallonby
